It is my pleasure and honour to express my
gratitude for being given the opportunity to say a few words.
First and foremost, I feel extremely fortunate to have been
chosen as the President of the Thurrock Nepalese Gurkha
Community (TNGC) to serve the community for two terms: from 16
March 2019 to 2022 and 2022 to 2025.
Serving the community is not easy, but it depends on how we
motivate ourselves to face every challenge that arises.
My motto has always been simple: *Be Positive & Open-Minded.
Stay Healthy, Happy, and Proactive.*
I am fortunate to be supported by the Executive Committee and
Advisers, which is why we have reached this level. We have
remained committed to a positive vision to accomplish our
mission, but development never ends. However, what we have
achieved in two terms is just the beginning.
We have accomplished so many remarkable things that have touched
people’s hearts and minds. We have received immense support from
the Government, Councillors, Nepali societies, and individuals.
Some of our key achievements include:
1. Providing a free hall for a year.
2. The TNGC hall joining hands with the Scouts.
3. Establishing the Nepalese Cemetery.
4. Creating the Gurkha Memorial.
5. Securing TNGC Registration.
6. Responding to the COVID-19 crisis.
7. Undertaking numerous other community initiatives.
In fact, I cannot conclude my words without expressing my
gratitude! First and foremost, I would like to thank my
excellent Executive Committee and Advisers, all members of the
active community personnel, including Chairpersons of other
communities, former Presidents of the TNGC, founding members,
the executive committee of the Purfleet Heritage Military
Centre, the MPs, Mayors, Councillors, and the local government.
Thank you & God Bless You All
